The Porter Building, the seat of the Department of Environmental Studies, is an innovative LEED Platinum accredited building that demonstrates principles of green building and urban sustainability.

It was constructed on a bare hill outside the campus, with a remarkable view of the Tel Aviv metropolitan area. It was designed as an open hub for muniti-disciplinar study and research, a living lab for environmental and sustainability thought.

The building was certified with a LEED PLATINUM score of 92 for green building - one of the top 20 buildings in the world to be certified at this level in 2014 when it was inaugurated and opened for studies and research. In 2017, the three architects who collaborated in the design and construction of the building, Prof. Yasha Grobman, Prof. Yossi Kuri and Nir Chen, won the first prize in the AutoDesk international architecture and construction competition in the sustainability category.

The building is the home of the Department of Environmental Studies at the Porter School of the Environment and Earth Sciences. For more information about the Porter building, read here: The Eco Building
