Climate Change and Sustainability: a Multi-Disciplinary View

Climate Change and Sustainability: a Multi-Disciplinary View

Climate Change and Sustainability: a Multi-Disciplinary View is a cross-faculty online course that can be taken by all students. 1000 students of all faculties have taken the course in the recent academic year.

Climate crisis touches all aspects of life: science, medicine, politics, law, and history. This course offers a multi-disciplinary and comprehensive picture of climate crisis. It provides a unique opportunity for students from all faculties to be exposed to how different and diverse fields of science and knowledge deal with the same issue and to study the extent of the crisis, its complexity, and possible solutions.

The course is taught by experts from various fields of knowledge: environmental studies and atmospheric sciences, climatology, biology, industrial biology, philosophy, history, geography, sociology, economics, psychology, urban planning, architecture, engineering, law and public policy.

The course is directed by Prof. Colin Price of the Porter School of the Environment and Earth Sciences, Faculty of Exact Sciences and by Prof. Ruth Ronen of the School of Philosophy, The Lester and Sally Entin Faculty of Humanities

"It encourages critical and multi-system thinking about the climate crisis, and we hope that it will be a catalyst not only for involvement and civic activity, but also for an intellectual discussion that connects the parts of the campus," says Prof. Ruth Ronen
